Mr. Konstantinos Benetatos joined the Hellenic Military Academy of Combat Support Officers of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in September of 1996. He completed his studies in 2002 and he then completed his military duties as a Medical Officer in Rhodes island where he offered his valuable services in the NATO forces of Greece in Afghanistan for 2 years, as well.
In 2006 he started his specialization in Plastic Surgery in the 401 General Military Hospital of Athens and then in the Anticancer Oncology Hospital “Agios Savvas”. After succeeding his entry exams in the Royal College of Surgeons of England, he continued his medical specialty training abroad.
In the period between 2008 up until 2012, he was introduced to the Restorative and Cosmetic Plastic Surgery art on the side of prominent Plastic Surgeons of the department of Plastic Surgery of the Nottingham University Hospital/Queen Medical Centre, where he gained valuable knowledge and experience. Respectively, he specialized in numerous Cosmetic and Restorative Plastic Surgery procedures, such as breast surgery, upper hand surgery, restoration of congenital malformations, such as cleft lip and cleft palate, hypospadias, trauma surgery, burn management with excision and restoration of large deficits, in patients with skin or breast cancer and various types of sarcomas.
He also attended numerous educational seminars in Plastic Surgery around the world while he has been the honoured speaker in multiple European and International conferences in Plastic Surgery. He was instructed and as an apprentice by the internationally renowned Plastic Surgeon and former President of the Plastic Surgeons of England Mr. G. Perks.
In 2011 he was awarded the European title of Plastic Surgery Specialty following successful examinations in the respective European Commission and then he worked for the University of Nottingham as a Senior MicroFellow (Microsurgery Fellowship) for a year and a half up until May 2012, where he specialized in Breast Surgery (Breast Institute of Nottingham University Hospital) and Head and Neck diseases(Oral and Maxilofacial Department, ENT Department) under the supervision of Microsurgeons, Mr P. Hollows and Mr I. McVicar.
Within this period he successfully performed over 120 micro surgical operations (free tissue transfer-autotransplants to the face, skull, oral cavity and breast). In 2012 he had the honor to become a member of the World Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery based in America, upon recognition of his strenuous efforts and contribution in the microsurgery field. In the same year, 2012, following his successful examinations, he received the official title of Plastic Surgery specialty in Greece and has been working as a supervising physician of Plastic Surgery at the 401 General Military Hospital of Athens, ever since.
He is a certified member of the Hellenic Society of Plastic Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery, HESPRAS as well as a certified member of the European Society of Plastic Surgery, EURAPS and certified member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
