Liquid Facelift
What is Liquid Facelift
Liquid Facelift can offer immediate rejuvenation to the face, which can last up to 2-3 years. It is essentially a combination of Botulinum toxin infusion and injectable fillers. With the former, we can alleviate or even eliminate expression lines as well as perioral wrinkles and improve the contour of the face (Nefertiti lift). With the latter i.e. with fillers, we can fill in the wrinkles (nasopharyngeal grooves, glabellar lines, forehead, upper-lower lip) and restore the volume of the face (cheekbones, tear trough deformity, chin, corners of the mouth, lips – lip contour). It is aimed mainly at middle-aged patients who do not want to undergo Lifting surgery and have a little or moderate degree of skin relaxation.
The procedure in brief
The procedure is very simple. Having thoroughly examined your face, we focus on those areas that need volume, lifting, and filling. Then, the anesthetic ointment is applied to the face and we begin with the application of hyaluronic acid where it is deemed necessary. The treatment is completed with the injection of Botulinum toxin. The procedure takes less than an hour and is carried out at the doctor’s office, as it is painless. There is an immediate improvement in the shape of the face – smoothing of wrinkles (hyaluronic acid action), while the results of the application of the Botulinum toxin begin to appear after 2-3 days and become completely visible after 15 days. After one week, treatment can be supplemented with a Fractional LASER session or mesotherapy for glow and a tightening effect. You can read more information about the treatments mentioned in the respective sections.
Recovery time from Liquid Facelift
Recovery is virtually immediate, without the need to abstain from your daily activities.
Duration of results
The duration of the results ranges from one to two years, maybe more. Even when the effect of the implants is gone, the person still benefits from the benefits of hyaluronic acid.
Permanent implants vs Hyaluronic acid
The shape, proportions, and features of the face are constantly changing over time. Permanent materials are not able to “follow” these changing features of the face, thus after many years, their position will appear unnatural. In addition, the body may react to the materials of permanent implants.
In contrast, hyaluronic acid is a natural product with a specific shelf life (depending on the depth it is injected). An exception to this rule is autologous fat, i.e. the fat of our body, which is considered a permanent implant. With the method of liposuction, we remove, usually from the area of the abdomen, an amount of fat that is then injected into the face. You can read more about this method here.
