Hyaluronic Acid
Why opt for a treatment using Hyaluronic acid
Fillers can offer excellent results in the fight against deep wrinkles on the face, but also in restoring lost volume. These are non-invasive treatments performed in the clinic under local anesthesia.
Hyaluronic acid
In our clinic, we make sure to only use the best brands of hyaluronic acid worldwide, among which is the Juvederm by Allergan, which has been approved by the American Drug Administration for human application (FDA Approval). Although hyaluronic acid is an artificial product, it is a natural component of the skin and does not contain animal ingredients, so it is completely hypoallergenic and free of side effects. It is completely safe when the necessary precautions are taken and provided that the person applying it is well versed in the complex anatomy of the face. It is gradually absorbed by the skin and its duration usually ranges from six to twelve months, which varies from patient to patient and based on the treatment area. In extremely mobile areas, as for instance the lips, hyaluronic acid tends not to last for that long. Usually the treatment is repeated at most up to twice a year and over the years the results become more permanent.
There are different types/densities of hyaluronic acid that are used for different purposes. The thinner a hyaluronic acid is the better it is for treating fine wrinkles; however, it lasts only a short time. In contrast, thicker / denser hyaluronic acid is ideal for deeper injections and for more volume.
Recovery after the use of hyaluronic acid
Duration of treatment
The infusion is made after the application of an anesthetic ointment and usually lasts from 10 to 20 minutes. Juvederm also contains a small amount of topical anesthetic in the syringe and therefore its use is much more painless than other similar products.
Recovery time
Hyaluronic acid treatment is a treatment that abroad is characterized as “lunch break treatment”, i.e. after its application one can return to work without any obvious signs of treatment.
Refraining from exercising
Patients should avoid intense exercising for about 24 hours.
Final results after hyaluronic acid treatment
You will be able to see the results immediately. Initially, of course, you will have mild swelling, which is maximized the next day when you wake up and will go down significantly by the next 72 hours. You will be given special instructions to minimize the possibility of swelling and bruising.
