Fruit Acid Peel
Why opt for a Fruit Acid Booster (AHA)
Fruit acids (an ancient beauty secret from the time of Cleopatra), is a well-known and relatively modern term that has been introduced in the field of cosmetics and is often referred to as AHA. These are organic, non-toxic substances that are part of a group of A-hydroxy acids and come from natural foods and mainly from fruits, where they owe their name.
The main AHAs are glycolic, lactic, citric, and grapefruit acids. Glycolic acid is the most effective, as it has the smallest molecular structure and thus penetrates faster into the layers of the skin, significantly increasing cell renewal and giving the skin radiance and youthful freshness.
It is a safe, painless, and short treatment that is done in a doctor’s office. Fruit acids have no unpleasant side effects, with the exception of a slight, harmless sting when applying the acids and a possible mild exfoliation and redness of the skin a few days later, which is reduced if we moisturize the skin frequently, as directed by the doctor.
Briefly, fruit acids:
- Reduce fine wrinkles and superficial acne scars
- Tone the skin
- The skin becomes smoother and softer, as the rough and hard texture is improved
- Cell renewal increases
- Activate the production of elastin and collagen, which keep the skin looking youthful
- Improve the color of the skin restoring its normal freshness and radiance
After the application of fruit acids, a patient can immediately return to their daily routine. The only precaution is to avoid exposure to intense sunshine and to use sunscreen. The fruit acid treatment cannot be applied in the summer when one suffers from active skin inflammations, as well as on very sensitive skin. Finally, the treatment with fruit acids should be preceded a few days earlier by a deep cleansing of the face using steam.
