Facial Aesthetic Surgery
Overview of facial plastic surgery
A growing number of men are now enjoying the benefits of Cosmetic Plastic Surgery, which helps them look and feel better. The most advanced techniques of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery can be applied in our clinic in order to give you the best possible results, whether you want to improve the effects of aging or correct a specific problem.
Our clinic offers a large number of facial surgeries including facelift, eyelid surgery, and rhinoplasty.
Medication
In our clinic, a complete medical history is always taken before each surgery. As a precaution, over-the-counter medicines or herbal products should not be taken before and for 3 days after surgery. It is also considered necessary to avoid taking non-steroid, anti-inflammatory drugs such as aspirin (salospir), ibuprofen (Nurofen), diclofenac, and any other anticoagulant or antiplatelet drug.
Smoking
If you are a smoker you should try to stop smoking for at least 1 week before and 1 week after the surgery as this will dramatically reduce the incidence of postoperative complications and help achieve the best possible result.
Blepharoplasty in Men
Eyelid “bags” are a combination of excess skin in the eyelid area, with or without swelling of the fat located underneath and behind the eyelid. Eyelid bags may make the eyes look old, tired and swollen. The correction can affect both the upper and lower eyelid area.
Upper eyelid blepharoplasty
Men tend to have lower and flatter eyebrows, which means that the incision hides extremely well in the new fold of the eyelid and fades away satisfactorily over time.
Lower eyelid blepharoplasty
The incision in the lower eyelid is made either inside the eyelid, where it is hidden or sometimes 1mm below the lashes when the skin from the lower eyelid is to be removed. In these cases, the incision will be a little more visible in the first weeks after surgery, but it will fade quite satisfactorily over time, to a point where it will be completely indistinguishable.
Facelift
As the face ages and in combination with the effect of sunlight deep wrinkles increase, the neck relaxes, the fat atrophies thus losing its volume and the skin loses its tone and elasticity resulting in it hanging in certain areas where it is firmly attached to the underlying skeleton of the face, such as the nasopharyngeal areas and the pouch in the lower jaw (“double chin”). In addition, the underlying muscles relax resulting in the total relaxation (drooping) of the facial tissues. A facelift can partially reverse these changes, especially in the neck and jawline. This surgery can be performed either alone or in combination with other surgeries that aim to improve the face as a whole. Such surgeries are blepharoplasty, removal of fat from the neck and injection of fat into the cheekbones that will help to fill the middle of the face and lift the tissues of the forehead/eyebrows (browlift).
It is important to know that if the male patient has hair loss, then the placement of the incision can be an issue as it is difficult to hide inside the scalp. In these cases, the technique of short scar facelift is preferred, as the incision in the temporal area can be modified for greater concealment.
A common problem in male patients undergoing facelift is that the facial scalp is transferred to areas that are normally hairless, such as just in front of the ear. Another possible complication of wrinkle resection is bleeding and the formation of a small hematoma. Finally, due to the fact that male patients have admittedly thicker and heavier skin than women on the face, Facial Lifting may seem less “intense” compared to a corresponding lifting in women.
Despite the possible occurrence of some complications, a male facelift is a surgery with very good and beneficial results for men.
Rhinoplasty
Whether you feel that your nose is long, or very large, or has a “hump” on its back, this surgery can make a big difference in your overall appearance and self-esteem.
Rhinoplasty is a relatively common procedure in men, with the most common request being the correction of the nose hump in combination with the correction of respiratory function. It is important to know that due to the increased thickness of the male skin of the nose, it may sometimes be difficult to make changes to the tip of the nose. However, your specific requirements will be thoroughly discussed and evaluated during your session.
