Burns
The procedure in brief
The treatment of burn wounds and of the resulting scars involves a variety of procedures. The most important arrow in our quiver is skin grafts, a process in which a part of the skin is removed from an area that can be hidden and then is transplanted to the required area, with precise techniques aimed at reducing scars to a minimum while achieving a natural look.
The implant is held in place with a special bandage, while the donor area is also covered with antibacterial cream to prevent infection.
After the completion of the operation and provided that it concerns small areas, the patient can return home without problems. In more difficult cases, however, you might be asked to stay in the hospital overnight.
Complications
After such an operation, the main complication is an infection of either the donor or the recipient area. In our clinic, we make sure to avoid such complications by giving you clear and detailed postoperative instructions. Pain may also occur after the operation, which of course is easily treated with the appropriate analgesic treatment.
